Retail Payments Advisory Committee

With the publication of the final regulations of the Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA) in Part II of the Canada Gazette, the Bank of Canada has concluded its engagement with the Retail Payments Advisory Committee (RPAC). The Bank will continue to reach out and engage with stakeholders broadly as the retail payments supervisory framework rolls out.

Mandate

The Bank of Canada established the Retail Payments Advisory Committee (RPAC) in 2020 to gather industry expertise about the retail payment services landscape.

The committee provided advice to support the Bank’s work on the design and implementation of its retail payments supervision framework until December 2023.
