Making economic topics accessible and understandable to all Canadians

With accessible, relevant and clear information, we help Canadians understand how the economy works and the Bank’s role in it.

We offer hands-on educational resources about money and the economy for individuals and groups of all ages.

Educational resources

Our educational programs and resources for students and teachers are designed to enhance understanding of economics and support financial literacy. Our offerings include:

  • Classroom resources—comprehensive lesson plans that integrate with school curricula
  • Online activities—educational resources for self-paced learning
  • School programs—in-person and virtual programs on key economic concepts and the history of money
  • Central Bank in Your Classroom—in-person and virtual presentations by Bank staff about the work of the Bank, tailored for students between Grade 10 and first-year university

Promoting economic literacy

Helping Canadians understand how the economy works—and the Bank’s role in it—is an important part of what we do. When people understand the economy, they are less vulnerable to financial instability¬. This helps make the economy and Canadians more resilient.

We promote economic literacy by giving you information and insight that helps you understand economic events and issues, and what those things mean for you.
