Bio
Erica Genevieve Codner has been with the Bank of Canada since April 2021. In 2024, she was appointed Assistant Director of Regional Outreach and Engagement. In this role, she leads teams across the country and is responsible for building business relationships, forming partnerships with key stakeholders, and identifying emerging currency-related issues and growth opportunities nationwide. She also supports compliance and education initiatives by developing outreach efforts that promote the mandates of both the Currency Department and the Bank of Canada.
Born in Montréal, Québec, Ms. Codner holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Canadian Studies from McGill University. She also holds specialized certificates in project management and in the prevention of financial crime, money laundering, and terrorist financing.
Before joining the Bank, Ms. Codner spent 11 years at Canada’s financial intelligence unit (FIU), FINTRAC, where she cultivated strong relationships with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, financial institutions, and gaming authorities across the country.
