Year-end data on the average number of bank notes in circulation, as well as data supplied by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on counterfeit notes. Counterfeits are categorized as passed (detected in circulation) or seized (those confiscated by law enforcement before being circulated). -

Bank of Canada note liabilities (formerly K1)
Bank of Canada note liabilities include notes issued by chartered banks, the Dominion of Canada, provinces and defunct banks as at year-end. These are note issues that are in the process of being retired, and liability for them has been taken over by the Bank of Canada from the original issuers. -

Bank of Canada increases overnight rate target to 1 per cent
The Bank of Canada is raising its target for the overnight rate to 1 per cent. The Bank Rate is correspondingly 1 1/4 per cent and the deposit rate is 3/4 per cent. -
