Today, the Fall 2024 Debt Distribution Framework Review Consultations Summary is being published, following the release of the Government of Canada’s 2024 Fall Economic Statement.
In September and October 2024, officials from the Department of Finance and the Bank of Canada consulted with government securities distributors, institutional investors and other interested parties on the design of the Government of Canada’s Debt Distribution Framework and whether any changes to this framework would be relevant and beneficial.
Comments received during these consultations will be taken into consideration and any changes to the Debt Distribution Framework in 2025 will be communicated to market participants well ahead of their implementation through a market notice on the Bank of Canada’s website.
