Debt Management Strategy Consultations – 2019-20

The Department of Finance and the Bank of Canada are seeking the views of government securities distributors, institutional investors, and other interested parties on issues related to the design and operation of the Government of Canada’s domestic debt program for 2019–20 and beyond. Regular consultations with market participants are an integral and valued part of the debt management process and all market participants are encouraged to provide input.

This year, we are interested in obtaining views on: (1) the functioning of Government of Canada treasury bill and bond programs, (2) issuance stability, and (3) well-functioning markets.

The Debt Management Strategy consultation period will close at the end of October 2018. A summary of comments received from market participants will be made available on the Bank of Canada’s website concurrently with the release of the Debt Management Strategy for 2019-20.
