Summary of Comments - 2014-15 Debt Management Strategy Consultations

Today, the Summary of Comments – 2014-15 Debt Management Strategy Consultations is being published in conjunction with the release of the government’s Debt Management Strategy for 2014-15.

In the autumn of 2013, officials from the Department of Finance and the Bank of Canada sought the views of government securities distributors, institutional investors and other interested parties on issues related to the design and operation of the Government of Canada domestic debt program for 2014-15. These debt management strategy consultations focused on obtaining views on the functioning of Government of Canada treasury bill and bond markets, as well as on the terms governing Government of Canada securities auctions. This year’s consultations also sought to obtain greater insight into retail investor demand for and access to wholesale Government of Canada securities.

Comments received during these consultations were taken into consideration in the development of the Debt Management Strategy for 2014-15.
